Charles V was born in Gand, Spanish Flanders, Belgium.1   Charles V's father was King Philip Von Hapsburg and his mother was Joanna Trastamara.  His paternal grandparents were Emperor Maximilian Von Hapsburg and Marie De Bourgogne; his maternal grandparents were Rey Ferdinado Cadis and Isabella De Castile. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry Nicholas, Eleanor, Mary and Catherine. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ferdinand I and Isabella.  He died on September 21st, 1558 in Monasterio De St Justo, Toledo, Toledo, Spain.1
