Garterhood was born on June 18th, 1757 in Albemarle, VA, USA.1 Garterhood's father was Samuel Glover and her mother was Judith Benning. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Glover and Elizabeth Jones; her maternal grandparents were Antoine Benin and Elizabeth Jounay. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Anthony, Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary and Sara. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 63 in 1820 in Caswell, NC, USA.1 -
