Tollef was born in 1760 in Medkile, Trondenes, Troms, Norway and his baptism took place there on April 7th, 1760.  He died at the age of 73 on March 20th, 1833 in Harebokken, Trondenes Parish, Troms, Norway.  He was buried on April 7th, 1833 in Trondenes, Troms, Norway.
