Johnes' father was Thomas Appulton and his mother is Maria Isaacke.  His paternal grandparents are Wilhemus Appulto and Rosa Sexte; his maternal grandparents are Edwardus Isaacke De Kancia and UNKNOWN Margeria. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, ---, Thomas, Juditha, Maria and Sarah.
