John Davis 
John was born on March 4th, 1768 in , Orange, North Carolina, United States.1 John's father was John Davies and his mother was Mary Chamness. His paternal grandparents were Charles Davies and Hannah Elizabeth Matson; his maternal grandparents were Anthony Chamness and Sarah Cole. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Joseph, William, Charles, Thomas, Sarah, Hannah, Mary, Ruth, Tamer, Elizabeth and Rachel. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 82 on October 2nd, 1850 in Deep Creek Mm, Surry, Nc.General Notes
