Joseph Pumphrey 
Joseph was born on September 27th, 1796 in Brooke Co,WV. Joseph's father was William Ridgley Pumphrey and his mother was Elizabeth Holmes. His paternal grandparents were Resin (Reason) Pumphrey and Sophia Ridgely; his maternal grandfather was Obadiah Holmes and his maternal grandmother is Mary Clunn. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Elija, Zachariah, Nimrod, Rezin, Caleb, William Ridgley, Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy and Charlotte. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 66 on January 9th, 1863 in Bethel Twp,Miami Co.,OH.-
