RICE A. was born about 1829 in LEWIS CO,KENTUCKY.  RICE A.'s father was NATHANIEL R. GARLAND and his mother is VIENNA ROYSE.  His paternal grandparents are UNKNOWN GARLAND and UNKNOWN UNKNOWN. He has four sisters named MARTHA, MARY, ELIZABETH and CYNTHIA A..  He is the oldest of the five children.
