William was born about 1651 in Of Fulwood &, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. William's father is Robert CLAYTON and his mother is Elianor ATHERTON. His paternal grandparents are Thomas CLAYTON and Anne BLUNDELL; his maternal grandparents are John ATHERTON and Mrs-John ATHERTON. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, Richard, Anne, Margaret, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died on July 8th, 1715. He was buried on July 11th, 1715.-
