His paternal grandparents were Hugh BARTLETT and Leah WELBORN; his maternal grandparents were John HAWLEY and Mary WHALEY. He had a brother and three sisters, named Wyrthy, Myrtie, Alma Ethel and Nellie Ellen. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 88 on June 30th, 1976 in Cozad, , Nebraska.-
