Margaret was born about 1276 in Annandale, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Margaret's father was Robert VII de Bruce and her mother was Marjorie of Carrick. Her paternal grandparents were Robert VI the Competitor de Bruce and Isabel de Clare; her maternal grandfather was Neil of Carrick and her maternal grandmother is Margaret Stewart. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Nigel, Thomas, Edward Bruce of, Alexander, Robert I Bruce of, Mary, Christina, Isabel and Maud. She was the youngest of the ten children. She had a half-sister named Isabel. She died after 1295.General Notes
