‌James and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on September 13th, 1793 in Greenbrier Co., Virginia.¹   They had five sons and four daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named Willis, Allen, George, James,Jr., Stephen, Sarah, Phebe, Lucretia, Elizabeth and Alamander.
