Frances (Frannie) was born on June 15th, 1865 in Tupelo, Mississippi.1 Frances (Frannie)'s father was Andrew Jackson Wilkes and her mother was Mary Ann (Polly) Basham. Her maternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Elizabeth Hogan. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Richard, James (Jim), William (Will), John R., George Washington, Elizabeth, Mary Martha, Margaret or Maggie, America Carolina, Nancy and Sarah California.
