His paternal grandparents were Hezekiah Warren and Mary Polly Skaggs. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Samuel Hezekiah, William F., James Thomas, Mary Jane, Nancy S. and Maria E.. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 77 on September 15th, 1961 in DeLeon, Comanche Co., Texas.
