Tenley Underwood 
Tenley was born on March 7th, 1902 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Tenley's father is General Thomas Underwood and his mother is UNKNOWN Unknown. His paternal grandfather is William J. Underwood and his paternal grandmother was Mahala Skaggs. He had a brother and two sisters, named Ernest, Sophia and Mattie. He died at the age of 79 on August 18th, 1981 in Hardin Co., Kentucky. Tenley Underwood, 79, of Route 1, Hodgenville, died Tues day , Aug 1
8, 19 81 at Hardin Memorial Hospijtal in Elizabethtown, where he had be
en a pati ent for three weeks. He was a retired farmer, and member of Ott
er Creek Ba ptist Church, where he had been a deacon for 45 years. Survivo
rs includ e; his wife, Lillie Caulk Underwood; one daughter Evelyn hedges
peth of St ar Route, Campbells ville; three sons, James Hardin Underwood a
nd Clau de T. Underwood, both of Louisville, and Odell Underwood of Rou
te 1, Hodge nville; Ten graznd children; four great-grandchildren; two sis
ters Soph ia Skaggs of Greensburg and Mattie Brewer of Elizabethtown; a
nd one brothe r, Ernest Underwood of Princeton, Illinois. The body wi
ll be at Bennett-Be rtram Funeral Home until the funeral services at 2:
00 p.m. Thursday at t he Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Lay a
nd the Rev. Gerald Gar dner officiating. Burial will be in the church ceme
tery.
