Clarissa was born on November 27th, 1841 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Clarissa's father was Thomas E. Underwood and her mother was Elizabeth Ann Druin. Her paternal grandparents were Hiram Underwood and Celia Buley. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named William Thomas, Rev., John, Andrew Jackson, Samuel Druin, George Durrett, James D., Benjamin Owens, Frances, Ellen, Catherine Ann, Jane, Mary E. and Sarah M.. She was the seventh oldest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 59 on March 2nd, 1901 in Tayler Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
