n, et al in 1 865, James B.McWhorter, sheriff of Taylor Co., make a bo
nd in Taylor Co. C ourt as sheriff to pay over money to people. His securi
ties were Henry Joh nson, Calloway Underwood, Wm. F. Gilpin, Thomas Dicke
n, Geroge W. Buchana n, S. M. Shively, R. W. Shively, and James B. Beam
s. While Mc Whorter w as sheriff, and execution in favor of Mary a. Chand
er vs. B. W. Griffin a nd A. F. Gowdy was put into his hands for collectio
n. He has not paid t he money over to her. McWhorter and his securities ha
ve broken the bond. P laintiff wants to collect $87 plus 15 % interest . J
udgement for the plain tiff.

Whereas on the 2nd day of April 1833 Morgan Jones executed a title bo
nd at tested by William Buckner & Robert Buckner to James Bell and John Be
ll, F or the conveyance of a certain piece or parcel of land then in Gree
n, n ow in Taylor County on the head waters of Little Brush Creek and so
me on t he waters of Pitman creek including the farm on which said Morg
an Jones th en lived containing about three hundred and five acres. And t
he said Jam es Bell on the 25th day of September 1837 assigned the sand la
nd to Lew is Bell, which said assignment is attested by James Sympson a
nd the said J ohn Bell afterwards on the 6th day of January 1840 assign
ed said land as a foresaid to Calloway Underwood. Which said assignme
nt is attested by Jo hn D. Oaks and whereas it appearing to the County Cou
rt of Taylor County t hat Morgan Jones has departed this life intestate a
nd the said County Cou rt at its March term 1849 appointed the undersign
ed commissioners to conv ey to the said Lewis Bell and Calloway Underwo
od the right and titit le to said land from the heirs of Morgan Jones, dec
eased, Who left as hei rs the following persons, viz: The unknown hei
rs of Jonathon Jones, dec' d, Lewis Jones, Henry Mears and Elizabeth Mea
rs his wife, late Jones, All en Jones, Jeremiah Jones, Martin Jones, Mill
ey Jones, Sally Jones, Racha el Jones, James Jones and Morgan Jones Jr. wh
erefore this Indenture made a nd entered into this 12th day of March 184

ers, Appointed by the County C ourt of Taylor as aforesaid of the one pa
rt and Lewis Bell and Calloway Un derwood of the second part, Witnesseth t
hat the said parties of the fir st part as aforesaid for and in considerat
ion of the premises aforesaid ha ve this day granted, bargained, sold a
nd conveyed and do by these presen ts grant, bargain, sell and convey un
to the party of the second part a cer tain piece or parcel of land on t
he headwaters of Little Brush Creek and s ome on the waters of Pitmans Cre
ek supposed to contain about three hundr ed and five acres and same on whi
ch Morgan Jones lived in the year 1833. T he right and titile to the abo
ve described land with all its appurtenace s, rights and priveliges, The s
aid party of the first part hereby warran ts against themselves, their hei
rs and all and every person or persons cla iming by through or under th
