Joseph Harris was born in 1820 in Cumberland Co., North Carolina.1 Joseph Harris' father was William Owen Tutor and his mother was Lucinda Senter. His maternal grandparents are Steven, Jr. Senter and Mary Unknown. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Samuel Isaac, John Henry, William Madison, Owen Young, Frances Samantha, Mary, Lilly Phoebe, Lucy Jane, Louisa and Martha J.. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died in Pontotoc Co., Mississippi. He was buried in John Wiley Tutor Cemetery.1 1 General Notes
