Paradine Taylor 
Paradine was born on April 5th, 1832 in Richardville, Warren Co., Kentucky.1 Paradine's father was Joseph Taylor and her mother was Polly Ann Hudnall. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Taylor and Sarah Best; her maternal grandparents were James Hudnall and Rhoda Chastain. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Bascom, James Wesley, Nicholas Wren, William Allen, Aaron, Joseph Irvin, Rhoda Chastain, Sarah Best, Tabitha H and Mary Ann. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 87 on February 22nd, 1920 in Richardville, Warren Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes

Hiram was a Union Soldier and farmer. He was 5 feet 6 inches and wei
gh ed 160 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes. He is buried in the fami
ly pl ot in Green River Union Cemetery in Richardsville Kentucky. Hiram w
as bo rn and raised on a farm, where he remained the support of his paren
ts unt il their deaths. Being the eldest son, the business of the farm ev
olved u pon him to such an extent that he had very few opportunities of at
tendi ng school and his education was almost entirely practical. He was s
elf-ma de, having started in life without any capital except that vest
ed in healt h, strength, and resolution. He was a proprietor of 140 acr
es that produc ed abundant crops of grain and tobacco. He was a Mason in E
lijah Upton Lod ge #377. He and his wife are members of Methodist Episcop
al Lodge a nd he is a Republican. He enlisted in the 16th Kentucky Volunt
eer Infant ry Oct 23, 1864 and participated in the engagements at Fort Fis
her, Fort A nderson, and Wilmington. He received an honorable discharge f
rom US servi ce June 10, 1865. See Document No 1
