ri ed away by the Indians, who were followied by the settleers down Dent
's R un and along the Monongahela River as far as the mouth of Robinsons
's Ru n, where they lost the trail. Nine years later the boy returned, b
ut his m other who had long since given him up as dean, refused to recogni
ze him un til she had identified him by a scar on his foot sustain
ed as a lad befo re his capture by the Indians."
Doll's Run named from his nickname "Doll" Snider ---- Originally call
ed Hu sk's Run the Snider's Run and now Doll's Run. At one time also call
ed Rudo lph's Run

nd so on the land was all occupied. An interesting heading in an old surve
yor 's book dated 1784-5 reads: "Surveyed for Rudolph Snither (Snider) 3
69 acr es of land on both sides of Husk run a Drean of Dunkers Creek" Th
is Husk r un; so named from Frederick Husk who had patented 200 acres ne
ar its mou th soon came to be called Snither's (Snider's) Run, or from h
is nicknam e, Doll Snider's Run and finally Dolls Run. Hannah, a daught
er of Rudol ph born March 5, 1780 was married to Christopher Core in 179
7, uniting t wo of the oldest pioneer families. The Rev. John Willey perfo
rmed the cere mony

6, 1789; J ohn, born July 3, 1791; Margaret, born Aug. 13, 1792, married I
saac Lemle y; Jeremiah; and others. Jeremiah was twice married, once to An
na Rich, a nd reared a family of 13 children, one of whom, A. Snider, bo
rn Oct. 8, 18 13, was an early Blacksmith.

George Lemley settled north of the Mason & Dixon Line along Dunkard C
re ek in 1797. Born in 1742, he died June 11, 1813. His wire Catherine Y
oh o, survived until Nov. 5, 1825. They had a large family of children inc
