Elijah Smiley

Elijah was born about 1846 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.¹   Elijah's father was William Smiley and his mother was Nancy Sealey. He had five brothers named George, John, Harrison Thomas, Benjamin and Sylvester.  He is the third youngest of the six children. He had seven half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Seth W., Abner, Edward Franklin, Samuel M., James N. 'Jim', Charles L., Robert P., Louisiana and Sarah Jane.
