Sarah Ann was born on November 17th, 1872 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 Sarah Ann's father was Benjamin Owen Skaggs and her mother is Missouri Ann Carter. Her paternal grandfather was John Cannon Skaggs and her paternal grandmother is Lucinda Shofner. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John Benjamin, William Franklin, Robert W., Macklin Elisha, Jefferson Franklin, Alfred Thomas, Mary E., Rutha Jane and Mary Loucinda. She had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Pleasant Carter, Richard C., James B., Samuel I., Herman Carter, Willie Robert and Catherine Howell. She died at the age of 80 on October 29th, 1953 in Manlius , Bureau Co., Illinois. She was buried in Manlius , Bureau Co., Illinois.1 1 General Notes
