Laura Green Skaggs

Laura Green was born on October 27th, 1872 in Green Co., Kentucky.¹ Laura Green's father was John Calvin Skaggs and her mother was Arabelle Davis. Her paternal grandfather was William Brock Skaggs and her paternal grandmother is Nancy Wells; her maternal grandparents were Ezekial P. Davis and Jane Etherton. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Samuel Major, Henry Moody, Jefferson Henry, Luther Forster, Luther Foster, Malissa Jane, Burnette, Caroline and Rachel Ermma. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named William Henry, John Alfred, James Dobson, Stephen Thomas and Mary Jane. She died at the age of 64 on November 11th, 1936 in Green Co., Kentucky. She was buried in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, LaRue Co., Kentucky.¹¹

‌Laura Green and John Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on February 13th, 1896 in Green Co., Kentucky.¹ They had three sons and two daughters, named Lawrence Earl, Otis Jake, Robert Leslie, Bertha Mae and Lola Etter.
