Edward McClain was born on January 5th, 1890 in Kentucky.1 Edward McClain's father was Lewis Young Skaggs and his mother was Mary Susan Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Henry David Skaggs and Ruth S. Salsman; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Jonathan Thompson and Mary Ann Warren. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Robert, James Mace, George Albert, Marvin, Marcus, Florence, Darcus Ann and Flocia Carrie. He died at the age of 87 on August 16th, 1977.
