Bertha Margaret was born on December 19th, 1912 in Kentucky.1 Bertha Margaret's father was Edward McClain Skaggs and her mother was Zilpha O. Warren. Her paternal grandparents were Lewis Young Skaggs and Mary Susan Thompson; her maternal grandparents were Richard Archie Warren and Malinda A. DeSpain. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Charley Cleaven, Herman Ray, Turl Ross, Garrett Mitchell, Ralph Gaeden, Richard Lewis, Otis Bernie, Nellie Althia, Nettie Viola and Ethel Alice. She died at the age of 67 in March 1980 in Kentucky. She was buried in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Green Co., Kentucky.1 1 General Notes
