George Washington Shepherd 
George Washington was born on April 12th, 1910 in Crawford Co., Arkansas.1 George Washington's father was Grover Cleveland Shepherd and his mother was Lula Beatrice Basham. His maternal grandparents were Monroe Moses Basham and Martha Jane Williams. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Arby, Winfrey Monroe, Haskell, Truman Oscar, Duel Cleveland, Ruby Elizabeth, Nellie Opal and Dessie Mae. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 74 on November 24th, 1984. He was buried in Bixby, Oklahoma.1 1 General Notes
