Burton Rucker was born on July 17th, 1818 in Alabama.1 Burton Rucker's father was Joseph N. Prestridge and his mother was Elizabeth D. Bagley. His paternal grandfather was John, Jr. Prestridge and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Waters. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James Madison, Benjamin Bagley, Martin Armond, Timeon Howel, Joseph Jackson, George Hopper, Jensey Elenor, Malissa Mozell and Elizabeth Jane.
