Bunyan G. Prestridge 
Bunyan G. was born on April 11th, 1858 in Alabama.1 Bunyan G.'s father was William A. Prestridge and his mother was Ruth J. Spears. His paternal grandparents were James Madison Prestridge and Emily S. Ezell. He had two brothers and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named William A., Jr., James J., Ila I. and Infant. He died at the age of 73 in 1931 in Alvarado, Johnson Co., Texas.1 General Notes

Dr. Bun Prestridge was raised in Texas, and educated in the Alvarado Sc
ho ol system. He worked with Dr. C. E. Russell in his practice, and g
ot h is "professional career" at Tulane University in New Orleans, and stu
di ed in Nashville, Tenessee. After graduation, he returned to Alvara
do a nd for thirty years looked after a large and profitable practice.
Dr. Bun married Annie C. Wrigley , the daughter of Col. Joseph and An
ne Wr igley of Liberty County Texas.
Dr. Bun at the age of 75 had his tonsils out and when he could talk s
ai d, "I'll never advise one of my patients to have their tonsils out, ju
st t ell them to go a head and go to He__! That's what it feels like."
At the time of Dr. Bun's death, he was mayor of Alvarado.
