William Melvin Preston 
William Melvin was born on June 15th, 1899 in Kentucky.1 William Melvin's father was Pendelton Douglas 'PD' Preston and his mother was Sara Goodwin. His paternal grandparents were Booker Preston and Louisa Asbury. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Carson, Carl R., Raleigh, Edith Evelyn, Bertha, Gladys and Mary Frances. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Cecil Pendleton, Victor Eugene, Nella Cordalane, Elsa A. and Sarah Louise. He died at the age of 66 on November 29th, 1965 in Trussville, Alabama.1 General Notes
