George W was born on February 22nd, 1864.1 George W's father was Meredith Pendley and his mother was Selina Frances Woodward. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Pendley and Nancy M Childress. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Richard F, John W, Everhardt G, Nancy C, Martha M and Virginia C. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.1 General Notes
