Payne and his paternal grandmother was Melissa Emma Noblett; his maternal grandparents are James Tucker and Laucy Lampton. He had two brothers and a sister, named Herbert Flynn, Charles D. and Pearl. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 56 on May 31st, 1961 in Toledo, Lucas Co., Ohio.1 -
