Cynthia Ellen was born on February 22nd, 1835 in Vermillion Co., Illinois.1 Cynthia Ellen's father was Enoch Oxley and her mother was Elizabeth Smalley. Her paternal grandparents were William Henry Oxley and Jane Binley; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin F. Smalley and Mary Liggett. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Lawson, Everett, Mary Jane, Susan Catherine and Sarah E.. She was the third youngest of the six children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named James Louis, Sophrania Ann, Rachael Victoria, Victoria and Prudence. She died at the age of 76 on March 2nd, 1911 in Pflugerville, Travis Co. Texas. She was buried in Hutto Cemetery, Round Rock, Williamson Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes
