Mary Owen was born in 1831 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Mary Owen's father was Perry Money and her mother was Griselda Jane Skaggs. Her maternal grandparents were James Skaggs and Anna McColgen. She had four brothers and five sisters, named James, William Redmon, John Nuton, Edward Lewis, Cynthia A., Emily Jane, Martha, Lydia A. and Elizabeth Frances.
