Delbert D. was born on March 24th, 1920 in Tahlequah, Cherokee Co., Oklahoma.1 Delbert D.'s father was Homer Martin Mize and his mother is Jessie May Hicks. His paternal grandparents were George B. McCellan Mize and Rosa Essafern Reynolds; his maternal grandparents are John Hicks and Mary Houston. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Daniel, Living, Living, Lola, Georgia Jewel, Corrie and Living.
