Lydia Hadassa was born on April 28th, 1862 in North Side, Bellfield, Allegheny Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1   Lydia Hadassa's father was Ralph Whitsett Means and her mother was Lydia Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Benjamin Means and Hadessa Nancy Whitsett; her maternal grandparents are Rees Jones and Catherine Humbert. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Benny, Ralph, William B., Kate E., Mary Price and Lulah Jones. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Edward Crosby, Mowry E., Eleanor D., Jeanette T., Josephine Agnes, Elmira C. and Sarah.  She died at the age of 77 on November 19th, 1939 in Duquesne, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania.  She was buried in Versailles Cem., McKeesport, Pennsylvania.1 1 


Lydia Hadassa's family with William Homer Watson Beatty

‌Lydia Hadassa and William Homer Watson were married in a religious ceremony on April 15th, 1886 in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania.1   They had three sons and a daughter, named Lewis Means, William James, Harold Homer and Lydia Florence.
