Gilbert Donald was born on November 23rd, 1890.1 Gilbert Donald's father was Yancy Price McQueen and his mother was Frances Ellen Currie. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Jenkins McQueen and Elizabeth Caroline Skipper. He had a brother and six sisters, named Frederick Currie, Lalla Corinne, Fannie Carolyn, Claudia Virginia, Ellen Ford, Eva Dalma and Ina Hope. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 on April 21st, 1971. He was buried in Patterson Cemetery, Loris, Horry Co., South Carolina.1 1 General Notes
