Port Ned was born on January 1st, 1916 in Killeen , Bell Co., Texas.1 Port Ned's father was Port Ellis McCorcle and his mother is Sally Vida Phelps. His paternal grandparents were Whipple Wesson, Dr. McCorcle and Cornelia Mildred Craig. He had a brother named Weldon Wesson. He was the younger of the two children.
