John Melvin was born in 1843 in WARREN COUNTY, KY.1 John Melvin's father was John Jackson Maxey and his mother was Mary A.C. Beller. His paternal grandparents were Edward Maxey and Judy White. He had three brothers named William W, Calvin and Wilson. He had three half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Milburn Adalbert, Chambers Irwin, Warren Woodson, Prudence Ann, Ann Heritage, Althea Matilda, Julia Ann, Hester Columbia, Willie W and Mary Elizabeth. He died at the age of 45 on December 20th, 1888 in McCLEAN COUNTY, KY.1 -
