Robert E. Lee was born on June 21st, 1900 in Covington, Hill Co., Texas.1 Robert E. Lee's father was Debe William Marbut and his mother is Rebecca Elizabeth Mae Tribble. His paternal grandparents were Phillip Henry Marbut and Martha Ann Bassham. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Philip Henry, Carl, Elizabeth Mae, Esther Ray and Debooth C.. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 67 on August 14th, 1967 in Cleburne, Johnson Co., Texas.1 General Notes
