Robert Alvin was born on April 14th, 1900 in Texas.1 Robert Alvin's father was George Washington Manning and his mother is Susan Elizabeth Davis. His paternal grandparents were James Duncan Manning and Martha Jane Graham. He had two brothers and nine sisters, named Luther Allen, Charles, Hattie Florilla, Iva Dell, Alzoria Palmaria, Susane Elizabeth, Lottie Mae, Effie Edna, Essie Ethel, Dessie Ovelia and Mordie Esta.
