John Earl was born on May 6th, 1896 in Hunt Co., Texas.1 John Earl's father was Marion Edward Ledford and his mother was Jessie Stodard Harper. His paternal grandparents were James Kenneth Ledford and Darnellie Juliar Basham. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Bee, T. J., Vera Louise, Lucille, Vesta and Jessie Lou. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 85 on August 11th, 1981 in Garland, Dallas Co., Texas.1 General Notes
