Wingfield was born in 1849 in WARREN COUNTY, KY.1 Wingfield's father was Benjamin D Lankford and his mother was Mary Ann Eliza Cherry. His maternal grandparents were William Cherry and Frances Taylor. He had six brothers named William, James, Thomas, Richard, George and Joseph Allen. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named James Hobson.1 -
