Obituary Erwin M. Kirkland
Edwin M. Kirkland 94, of Everett, died Jan. 23, 1988, in a local nu
rs ing home.
He was born in Van Buren, Mo. on Sept. 30, 1893. He moved to Eve
re tt when he was 11 years old and has resided in this area since that t
im e. He had been a well known foreman in the lumber mills of this regi
on f or many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy, in 1983, after al
mo st 72 years of marriage.
He leaves his daughter, Lorna Ries of Yakima, son and daughter-in-
la w, Duane and F. Kirkland of Marysville; six grandchildren; 12 great-gra
ndc hildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous special nieces a
nd n ephews; and many friends who loved him.
It was his wish that there be no service. Cremation and arrangem
en ts under the direction of Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home.

Daisy L. Kirkland, 91, of Everett, died Nov. 7, 1983, in a local nu
rs ing home.
She was born Daidy Shrewsbury, near Athens, W. Va., on Sept. 22, 1
89 2. She was from one of the pioneer families of Snohomish.
She leaves her husband of nearly 72 years, Erwin Kirkland in a nur
si ng home; daughter, Lorna Ries of Yakima; son, Duane Kirkland of Marysvi
ll e; six grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and ne
phe ws.
