Travis Carl Keahey 
Travis Carl was born on January 12th, 1912 in Garnett, Lincoln Co., Arkanasa.1 Travis Carl's father was Benjamin Franklin Keahey and his mother was Georgia Ella Leonard. His paternal grandparents were William A. Byrum Keahey and Isadora McGraw. He had a brother and four sisters, named Harold Vinson, Avis Octavia, Hazel Elaine, Georgia Eugenia and Vera Lou. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 88 on April 9th, 2000 in Fayetteville, Washington, Arkansas. Travis Keahey Sr. Travis C. Keahey Sr., 88, of Fayetteville, died Apr
il 1 0, 2000, at his home. He was born January 12, 1912, at Garnett (Linco
ln Co unty), a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Keahey I and Georgie Leon
ard Ke ahey. He graduated from Dumas High School and attended the Monticel
lo A &M (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello) and graduated fr
om the U niversity of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a 32nd-Degree Maso
n, memb er of Lafayette Chapter 7, Royal Arch Masons at Pine Bluff, a
nd a memb er of the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Knights of the Commandery a
nd a Shrine r. He was a self-employed business man, operating a Gulf servi
ce statio n. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Duma
s. He was p receded in death by two wives, Noveline Westbrook Keahey and W
anda Walk er Keahey; and a grandson. Survivors include three sons, B
en F. Keah ey of Fayetteville, Travis C. Keahey Jr. of Placerville, Califo
rnia, and G eorge W. Keahey of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Martha K. Pier
ce of Spring dale and Margaret K. Harrelson of Fayetteville; four grandchi
ldren; a nd a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursd
ay in Jones boro Memorial Park Cemetery by Nelson's Funeral Home at Fayett
eville. Visi tation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Me
morials m ay be made to the First United Methodist Church at Dumas or t
he Desha Coun ty Museum Society.
