Mattie Catherine Keahey 
Mattie Catherine was born on February 19th, 1871 in Harpersville, Scott Co., Mississippi.1 Mattie Catherine's father was George Jefferson Keahey and her mother was Martha Elizabeth Smith. Her paternal grandparents were John Robert Jackson Keahey and Martha Slay. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John Henry, George Oscar, Vaden Scott, Jefferson, Stella, Margaret Lenore and Mary. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named James Jefferson, Joe and Mary. She died at the age of 82 on April 16th, 1953 in Dallas, Texas.1 General Notes
