Runney Lenis was born on August 10th, 1910 in Eastland Co., Near Okra, Texas.1 Runney Lenis' father was John Bascom Johnson and her mother was Alice Clementine (Tiny) Basham. Her paternal grandparents are Jefferson Roman Johnson and Mary Jane Pearce; her maternal grandparents were Joseph P. Basham and Mary Jane Morris. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named Joseph Jolette, O. A. Montgomery, Fredrick Clinton, Thomas Alvin, J. C., Dossie, Living, Sibyl Ruth, Velma Velette, Iola Lucille, Baby (Twin), Living and Living. She died at the age of 91 on December 1st, 2001 in Eastland, Eastland Co., Texas.
