William Hancock

William was born in 1674 in Henrico Co., Virginia.¹   William's father was Robert Hancock and his mother was Johan Ligon.  His paternal grandparents are Simon Hancock and Sarah Unknown; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Ligon and Mary Harris. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Robert, Robert, Sarah, Mary, Joan Johannah, Elizabeth and Phoebe.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 45 in 1719.¹
