Emily Josephine was born on December 11th, 1878 in Tyler, Smith County, Texas.1 Emily Josephine's father was John Henry Hamman and her mother was Lenora Alethea Gause. Her paternal grandparents are Phillip H., Jr. Hamman and Mary Ann Allen; her maternal grandparents were Emory Purefoy Gause and Caroline Narcissa Gardner. She had six brothers and four sisters, named James Emory, George, Terry, Robert Terry, Mack Barnes, Joseph Zachariah, Lena Elizabeth, Carrie Mae, Virginia Mae and Samuel M. "Sammie". She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 89 on December 26th, 1967 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.1 -
