Ella Mae was born in 1893 in Louisiana.1 Ella Mae's father was Benjamin Fitzpatrick Grigsby and her mother was Martha Ann Jackson. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Moody Grigsby and Emily Euphemia Smith. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Thomas M., Benjamin, Martha Ann, Elizabeth E., Eddie Roberta, Johnnie E., Emily E., Ivie Lucille, Grizzie E. and Mittie Ruth. She was the third youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 84 on November 13th, 1977.1 General Notes
