Cephas was born on May 26th, 1881 in North Carolina.1 Cephas' father is George W. Gentry and his mother is Susan Johnson. His paternal grandparents are William Gentry and Jane Sams. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Marion F., Henderson G., Thomas B., Andrew J., Johnny, Martha Jane, Cordelia, Sarah E., Laura, Surilda, Mitchell and Daisy.
