John Brantley Gardner 
John Brantley was born on June 11th, 1834 in Upson County, Georgia.1 John Brantley's father was John Gardner and his mother was Emeline "Emily" Beall. His paternal grandparents were Sterling, Sr. Gardner and Mary Polly Neal; his maternal grandfather was Robert Beall and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Jenkins. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert Beall I, Thomas Neal, John, Jr., Sterling Capers, James Hightower, Mary Neal, Caroline Narcissa and Sarah Melissa. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died about 1898 in Barnesville, Georgia.1 -
